caller id works fine when phone is not in use, but if end user is on a call then name flashes for a second then is gone. can this be changed?

I believe that's how Panasonic designed it. If you're on the phone, you'll hear the CW tone and the callerID will flash every few seconds, not only once.

set up a missed call log button for the group, so you can look it up after your first call
