We have a KX-TDA50 with a TVS50.

What is the difference between using the management console to edit the system settings vs using a telephone and hitting PGM * # (password) and setting up there.

I don't know why Panasonic lets such ignorant people install phones for them. The only reason I need an installer at this point because he has that management console, but I really hate dealing with this guy.

the reason for the maintanance consol is time its a lot easier than the phone

3. if you dont like your installer then dump him remember you pay him... there are lots of nice guys like myself HA HA who when getting paid to do a job are always nice to the customer & if a customer doesent like us we dont work...if you update your profile i am sure it wont be long before you have a list of installers willing to sort your system for you ....

polyhedron, There are a few program options that can only be done through the laptop with the software but most can be done through the admin phone.
If your unhappy with your dealer then you should let Panasonic know. I'll be happy to provide you with a customer service # and you can request the local Rep call you.
Have you made your concerns aware to the management of this company?
Maybe they can send out a different Tech.?

I tried the links for the ver1.1 management console, but the zip files were encrypted. I am trying to get the KX-TDA management console to program a used KX-TDA50 phone system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is a reason for encryption thats a dealer only website and the software is not the same as the stateside version and may cause more havoc than good get on panasonic website and put your zipcode in and find another vendor.

OK guys, lets put this 2005 post back to sleep.
DTown, In the US the software is proprietary to certified dealers.
Panasonoc is very strict about this and they will admonish or pull the Cert.(and have)
of dealers who do not comply with their rules.

Thank you for the intelligent reply MrGemini. While I can't say I agree with Panasonic's policy to withhold the installation software from the general public, I appreciate your explanation of the process.
