We have a phone system in our office that I'm having troube setting up. The main model is KX-T7431 and extentions are KX-T7420. I was trying to set up a one touch dialing on one of the extention phone using operating instructions (page 18). For some reason, the set up is not working and now I cannot even use the CO button I was selecting to program one touch dialing. Is there a way to reset the program? I'm not sure why the set up didn't work since I just followed the instruction. The CO button I chose doesn't even flash any more when the line rings in other extentions. I need to get that button work again and it's fine if I can't program one touch diailng any more as long as I can keep those buttons work...

Thank you.

There are several choices for what a flex button can represent, but once programmed that is the only thing it will do. It sounds as though that was one of your CO lines, and now it is not valid. Depending on which control unit (system) you have, the programming of buttons is a little different. If you know which CO line is missing, you could try this:
Press Program
Dial 99
Press the button you want to program
Dial 0 then the 2-digit co line number, such as 01.
Press Auto Dial/Store
Pick up the receiver and set it back down.

Now try and see if the button is back to what it was.

It worked! The button is working now! Thank you! Another problem is that we wanted to change a phone number that was stored as speed dialing (3 digits). Reading the instructions, on page 27, it says that we have to put a user password which none of us in our office know. We tried to contact an installer of our phone system but they closed down their business so we are stuck. How do we retrieve the password on the system?

Thank you for your help!

Passwords can not be revealed in the open forum, so let me say this... Try the default user password. It should be listed in the manual. If you can't find this, then your options would be to try a qualified installer. There is a link at the top of the page to find installers in your area.
