I am having tons of issues with the 7896 cordless and the 824, mostly caller Id problems. Does anyone have a good written procedure of how to set up the phone with the 824.
Also, does Panasonic have a software program for the 824? I have a maintenance console program for the voice processors, but not the 824

Thanks

But how do you set cid button on 7896? How do you call up caller id calls?

Software comes with 824.
Pgm CID button same as reg phone, just plug in a reg ph and set buttons, name buttons using wireless handset programming.
Once set, works much the same as on a std phone, press button and scroll through.

Which buttons on 7896 do you recommend using for cid?

For a house, 1 for line 1, 2 for line 2, if used.
3 for Page, 4 for CID.

Is it necessary to program a button for CID selection, AND CID indication on the 7896 phone?

no. you can scroll with Navi stick.
press button to bring up, then use stick.
press down on stick or press Talk to call back.
It's not needed on the PT phone either. Just a wasted button. On PT, press button to display log,
up or down on Navi button to scroll, side to side
to display additional info, press line or Loop key to callback.
