The system is ver1.1 customer said it was working. where is the fax extn programmed. it works when you dial in if a person rings call pickup then rings phones fax rings after pickup get ring tone but fax not ringing has msg2 card

There is a feature on the tda30 which will answer a call if it is a fax it will pass the call to the fax machine which is programming if a person is calling it will transfer the call to a ring group.

Sideshowbob is right about fax detection with the disa/message2 card, but this is only in v2 and up. upgrade the software,he may of had a option to press 5 for fax.

The call has to be answered by the disa/message card with options like 1 for sales, 2 for accounts......

in 5.additional device- 3. voice message- 2. disa message.-- in the table each disa table on the end has a box for fax extension,

enter fax ext no here and when it hears a fax tone , the system will sent the call to the fax machine, much like the tes does.


If you don't want options you will have to use intercept to operator and have the system operator a group for more than 1 phone to ring

also note with disa answering the fax calls:
the fax part will only work if the fax call was sent automaticly...

i.e the person sending the fax inserts the fax page dials your fax number and presses send and lets the fax machine do the sending.

if however the sender dials your number and waits for an answer then presses send disa will not see the fax call and will route to voice path. some people are now starting to do it this way.
so GEM is right a voicemail is the best answer if you have one

no there is no voicemail I now have ver4 so under the disa message I can now see the fax extn 304. I also worked it out some person has changed the DIL to ring grp 601 not the 501 message which detects fax. the customer was right it did work until someone changed it
