I am not currently a Panasonic tech, although I was certified on the KXTD1232 some years ago. A potential customer has a KXTD1232 and is using 5 KXTD7895 phones. They want to replace the system and we just need to know how these phones connect. Do they use a digital port or do they connect to the extra device port of the digital phone?
Thanks,

They use a digital port. Once this is used, the port's XDP feature is no longer available.

These phones are the cordless phones. They can be set to SLT or EMSS mode.

Yes, I agree that they are cordless phones but in order to gain the full multi-line functionality, they must occupy a full digital port. It is true that you can set them for SLT mode and use them on an XDP of another station, but that would make for a mighty expensive cordless SLT.

Actually, they must be connected to a digital hybrid port. Just wanted to clarify, because if you upgrade to a TDA, TDE, or NCP and only install DLC cards, this phone will not work for you.

I misunderstood Ed. I would assume that this is not like the Nortel T7406E that can have more than one phone on the base station. Am I correct?

That's correct, 1 phone per base, wire it like an analog PT. ---------------------- MrG
