i have a customer that wants help to have unaswered calls go to voice mail. They have a kx ta624 with a tvs75. i have not worked on one befor but the system and personal voicemails are workinf fine. I would like to know if the manager mailbox would be a good solution for this and how to point unanswered call to it. Or is there a easier and better solution for this. This system will only be in place for another year until the corp. set up it's network. Any help they would love. Thanks

Kalen, what options do you want to give the caller once the auto attendant answers? You can delay ring the pilot port of the voicemail in the TA624 and then have the A/A answer with a custom menu. --------------------- MrG

Do i need an auto attendant? I do not want to give any options, just a general box messages go into when not answered. Would call forwarding be the easies option knowing this system will go away? personaly i would like to give them another box with a company greeting.

If you can have all the CO lines DIL 1-1 to an extension then you may be able to have that mailbox grab it on a N/A condition. You could have the AA answer with a greeting that asks to leave a message but you would have a couple of seconds of silence after the greeting. The custom greeting would time out on no DTMF and go to whatever mailbox you wanted. ----------------------- MrG

ok, How about the GDM. Would that involve the AA? I have not yet gotten back to this customer to see how all is set up. But if the receptionist phone is set as the operator could i not point the GDM to it?

The only easy way is to DIL the lines to one phone. FWD that phone no answer to vm. Whatever mailbox is attached to that phone will answer with it's Greeting if recorded, if not recorded caller will hear 'Please leave a message for (mailbox number) or the name of the mailbox if that is recorded. The drawback here is that only 1 phone can ring without a few tricks.
