Have customer with call waiting caller ID. Problem is the call waiting caller ID does not work as configured. The particular customer in mind has an old Prostar 816 installed and so I had to run seperate copper to the caller ID units since the Prostar does not have the capability. The caller ID works fine but the call waiting caller id does not work. I had the exact same problem with a Vodavi system but solved the problem by running the c.o.l. first to all of the caller id units then to the system. That solved it. Call Waiting Caller ID is now properlu working. I tried the same on the Prostar but no luck. Any ideas? This is driving me nuts. I checked it with the system disconnected and it works fine.
Thanks,

Ask them nicely to get two lines in rotary like a normal business. Seriously, the cost is not that much more a month, and it is the correct way to operate; I would venture to say that they are using residential lines to save a few bucks a month too....

FYI, it is a residential account with a phone system. Believe it or not, it is a Mennonite Farm that has multiple buildigs and young children. They don't need or want two lines. They just want to know who's calling when a second call comes in during call waiting. Thanks
