I love the Net, except when clients go out and find stuff that's new to me. Like, the KX-T7737 phone with talking caller ID. I'd never heard of it, and neither had my distributor. Apparently I'm not alone, becauase I found only one reference to it in the archives, and the black version has already been discontinued! Soooo how does it work?
I'll be putting it on a newly installed 824 w/TVA50. Is the voice driven by the CID info sent by the telco? Or does it have to be programmed into the KSU, so it only works with callers whose ID you already know? Will it work with the CID card that comes in the 824, or does it require some upgraded CID card?
The only reference to Talking CID I could find in the tech manuals was the Quick Reference Guide that comes with the 7737 phone. It said how to turn the feature on and off

and set the volume. There was also a very cryptic reference to "don't use colons because they may not be properly pronounced". Deep questions, like "WTF??" spring readily to mind.
Grateful for any guidance.
