Zing. Point made :-) The problem is that I work in a former GTE territory. We learn to love or hate the fact that all lines in our offices ID with the pilot number. It's good for your reason, and bad for ID'ing lines in the hunt group without calling the business office, because Verizon "fogets" to do that on the bill.
It never mattered until CID became widespread. Now, I really appreciate the Verizon way. When we convert customers to alternative dial tone, we are screwed because they can't program that in the switch. It's one of the first questions we get *after* the cut.
Unfortunately, their only solution is to mark the lines private.

Over here we use jsdnlines on our systems because with hunting on isdn every call out on any line shows the main number or we can program the system to send any number that is assigned to the isdn lines
“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

Our lines are through cablevision, not sure if they will change the caller # on each line to be same... i need them to correct the CID name that shows up, as they put our company name backwards (bascially the 2nd part of our company names shows up first, as a last name would, then the first part, its odd)

I guess I should amend the first line of last post to "if you can or if they will". And Last line to "unless they had to". Just don't have that problem down here. Now, if someone will send me a big fat crow, I shall proceed to eat the sucker!!!

Adam, if you find they can, get names and switch type. Time Worthless(tm) claims they can't. Actually the other NW Ohio cable company ( )uckeye Telesystems claims they can't either, and, even worse, they can't mark it private and keep it in a hunt group. Since I'm not an agent for either one, I can usually inform the customer before the event. Yeah, but just look at the money they save :-)

Ive never been a fan of phone through the cable comp[any, so far... so good. We havnt had any issues (with the phone) we have had issues with our new ULTRA service. I'm luck enough to be in the fastest place on North america for internet, Nassau county New York Rated the fastest internet i believe in the country. And i am right at the fiber connection, couldnt get closer unless i was at the damn company itself... so may thats why no issues, otherwise i still prefer POTS.
