The miracle cure arrived and his name is kxtvet.

I was reluctant to do the system reset trick since the thought of manually reconfiguring the KSU again was a bit overwhelming. But, this morning kxtvet helped me get the DOS software, which was the silver bullet I needed.

I used my XP netbook and USB com port dongle, saved the crippled XK-TD816's data, performed a fresh system reset, then reloaded the database. Long story short, problem solved.

It's a mystery why the MWL issue occurred in the first place. But, the solution was as painless as I could have ever hoped for.

Thanks to my good fortune with the MWL problem today, I'm finally putting the finishing touches on the "new" system.

I'm down to my last snag: When I attempt to assign a password to a DPT's LCS button, I get a "Not Valid" error message as soon as I enter the 799 code. Just for reference, if I press the LCS buttong the display does indeed say "LCS".

Is there something special (other than programming a lighted button for LCS) that I must configure to allow LCS?
