Multiple users complaining about lines crackling during most calls. Have not visited site yet, plan to check service and cabling, but I think this system is "falling apart", and my gut tells me it may be a system problem..?? Anyone know of a similar issue? Can I reset this unit without affecting the programming?
Any help appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like line problems. Is there crackling on internal calls?

TD is a very robust they don't "fall apart" if they do fail its usually a hard fail as ob stated look out through the NID and in at house cabling first powering down and back up again constitutes a reset!

Just pay attention to the memory switch on the side of the cabinet! It's very easy to inadvertently to set it to default at the next power loss! frown

First thing to isolate reality from "perceived reality".

I would suggest the problem is either:
  • Telco-side of RJ-21X Related
  • Someone made their own line cords to feed dialtone to the system.

I have never liked putting a modular clip on a X-Connect wire...you're just inviting problems...mostly static.
