Hey guys-I have a KXTA-824 that lost MOH when someone cut the wire to the music source. After replacing the cable I get music up to the mini plug where it plugs in the ext music port. I hear music loud and clear on my butt set on the mini plug, but when I plug in to the ext music port, I get no MOH. My tone goes through, but music does not. I will try replacing the music source tomorrow with an Ipod. BGM is set to external music. Is there any other programming that could affect MOH?

No. Make sure the impedance is correct and the source is not too loud as this can cause problems as well

And the plug is NOT 3 conductor but it IS 3.5mm, NOT 1/8 miniplug!

Don't tell my mono 1/8" plug that, it may stop working on all my systems.

When 1 does, or you get complaint's of MOH/BGM cutting out 'when big trucks go by' (shaking the building) you'll know why! Say Carl, then what are you doing with the plugs that come with the system? And those neat, reusable tyraps. Or has Panasonic cut costs by no longer including them, or the mounting hardware? Remember, I retired a couple of years ago! I still read, but I haven't actually touched anything but a Mitel since I retired. You can be picky when you don't NEED the money!

I throw them away, of course.
We don't seem to have an issue over 1/8" vs. 350 mm. I usually get the molded cables from Rat Shack, either 1/8-1/8 or 1/8 to RCA Phono, or I use the cables that come with the Premier or Intellihold.
After crawling around in the attic of a 40-year old motel, I'd like to retire too. Only my bank account couldn't support me in the lifestyle I'm accustomed to :-)

Exactly why I generally act as a consultant, on or off site. Modem in and do a little programming. Or, use somebodie's hands and eyes at the console.
