Need to disable the step just before going into a mail box to leave a message that says,

"Sorry no one is available to take your call (502). To leave a message press 1 (695). To call the operator, press 0 (618). To try another extension, press * (672)."

Customer just wants it to play the user's mailbox greeting and skip this step entirely.

Cant seem to find where to disable it in 998. I only have the option to change it (re-record in my own voice).

Help!!!! This customer is B*tchy!!!!

Punch down all your damn pairs!..........(please).

You can't just disable it, forward each phone to the voice mail and you won't get that prompt.

I agree with 94astro, do a busy no answer to vm. you can turn off the prompts but it just gives a silent pause where the prompts would be played

I like to change the stock transfer FXA sequence to FXD then the useless annoying time wasting resource hog on a 2 port system "you have a call"
goes away .one thing that a bitchy customer is not going to like is a flashing fwd/dnd light.
you could buy some paint stick and blot out the buttons.

Shawn, I do that as standard as well. customers hate that you have a call. Plus like you said, it holds open a port until the call is answered.

Only thing to watch is if you don't use fwd to voicemail on extensions, unanswered extensions not get "Sorry no one is available to take your call (502). To leave a message press 1 (695). To call the operator, press 0 (618). To try another extension, press * (672). it will go back to auto-attendant

Jack in each mailbox disable (under Autoumatic Attendant Status -Set Incomplete Call Handling Status) option 5 (operator) and option 6 (return to AA Service Top Menu). After you log in to your mailbox it would be 4 4. If your using AA this should work.

Thanks, guys. I've always used the DND/FWD button, but didn't know that there was a difference in behavior between that and a transfer recall to mailbox (did I mention that I'm primarily a Nortel guy????).

Wi Phoneman: can you explain a little more what that feature does/is used for?

That feature is in everyone's mailbox. It comes into play if you use an AA and if the voice mail see's the transfer as incomplete (no answer ect..). You have 5 options that can be enabled or disabled. Normally I just have just the first option enabled (leaving a message) and disable the rest. From your first post it sounded like you had two of the other options enabled the transfer to operator and the return to the main menu. Go into a mailbox and dial 4 4 you'll see what I mean. If you haven't changed your original configuration this will work. If you changed it then this may be moot. Get a subscriber guide for this system it will help.
