Could someone shed some light on a situation for me? Do you use the port/trunk service settings to get different day and night menu's? Example use 1st port of vm for day menu and 2nd port for night menu? And yes I do have the manual! Thanks in advance

No. You use the PBX control part of the VM to send follow-on ID and status to both ports. Of course, if your TD is rev 3 or lower, you will have a huge problem, IIRC.

I've tried setting to pbx control as well, no dice. It's currently setup for automatic mode. I'm trying to work on a system where the original installer went missing. The system never answered with seperate day and night greetings. Although documents were left by installer to record day menu in custom service 1 and night in custom service 2. However I can't seem to figure out exactly what tells the system to use which menu. The 1232 does go into night mode at the right time I just can't get service menu 2 to ever pick up! bugging me. BTW I do have all the manuals and laptop connected to the VM. At this point I'm ready to tell the customer to live with 1 menu for day and night. Any suggestions on what to do about the menu's??

If you have a low revision TD you define port service for day & night these day and night settings will be identical in port 1 & 2 and define what custom greetings are played day and night and record the day and night greetings accordingly... Then you have tell the tvs in time table when to go into day and night service . Then you define day and night service in TD if they are not using IRNA during the day and tvs picks up right away then it is not nessesary to define night service on TD if they are using IRNA during the day then you should set TD to DIL 1:1 to 165 and then in your day / night time table in the TD will be defined identically to the TVS time table .... Piece of cake and its all in the book!!

-5 and up has the PBX control ability. The VM with this feature will follow the switch in automatic or manually invoked Time Mode changes. TVS50 and TVS 120,220,320 and 90 and above would have this feature. Some very early TVS 50 may not.
