Hi peeps,

I'm considering changing the way our TVA50 handles calls and need to throw out a logic question to anyone in the know:

If the TVA50 AA answers all calls (day/night etc.) but in day mode, pipe the call direct to an extension, if not answered, can it go to a day custom service?

If AA is answering but initially sending to an extension, does CID pipe through properly?

Thanks!

You can have the TVA pick up on a delay but its only 15 secs if you use disa intercept and then
to TVA you have a more flexible timers...

Hmm...thanks for the info.

Does the TVA have longer adjustable FWD/NA timers then 20 seconds on the 824?

you are not on the fwd/bna timer at all l
you are on the delayed day ringing of a ext 107
and that total is 15secs

I think I'm trying to make things more complicated then they need to be in my mind;

What I'm trying to ask is can the TVA in AA mode be set to play a company greeting, then transfer to an extension without the caller having to press a key?

This would help me if the TVA can control longer FWD to VM NA then the 20 seconds the 824 can be set to... if you follow... I'd still need call waiting beeps to be working.

I may be getting closer:

Use 'Date Control' on the TVA

Refining it:

4 port TVA / 3 CO's hunting

Using TVA day control - all days forward to extension 100. Caller greeting with 'Welcome blah blah - -please hold) Extended pickup timer on the TVA to 30 seconds. Turned off FWDs on 824 (don't need flashing FWD lights or internal voicemail).

Now have 30 second fwds with an 824!!!

Happy bunny smile

If that suits your needs? sounds wacky to me What happens when you ring ext 107/115 from intercom does the voicemail pick up right away or does it it take a half a minute to answer during the day ?Are you telling me you are not using or no one has voicemail boxes?why didn't you use disa in that case ?

Calling 107 answers immediately.
The TVA 30 second pickup timer I changed from 20 seconds (per extension - I changed extension 100 values) is purely for calls through the TVA (ie. all CO calls)
We have 1 primary vm box (ext 100) and other vm boxes for our Inn suites.

Are you referring to
Delay Time After Connected Received for Incoming
timer ??

I totally remember you now bob you are the guy who owns an inn and were asking about 911 calls that should have bought the 848 so you could sequence calls for reservations !!

I am he!! laugh

We're doing fine with the setup we have. Some caveats of course but not bad.

I'm now tweakin things.

Quick q: I'm thinking my TVA502 may be bad frown
If I call 115 or 116 i get a busy tone. The digital side seems fine - passes all tests in the TVA diags. Ports 15 and 16 are good on the 824. Do you know of a good way to test the 502?

Your solution is nowhere what you first asked for.

That aside, did 115/116 ever work??

To me my question was what I asked for! lol.

The TVA can answer the call using day custom service, then fire it to an extension without the caller having to press any keys. Took me a while to find it.

MY 502 I think the analogue ports have blown frown
I should be able to ring 115/116 and get the VM menu right? I get busy tone on both. I tried with a vanilla config as well.

You could get more help if you explain your needs better.

You did not properly articulate your question till 1.14 @ 3:23.

What I'm trying to ask is can the TVA in AA mode be set to play a company greeting, then transfer to an extension without the caller having to press a key?

Long way from first post.

You're probably right, but to I am not a phone tech and was unsure of what I wanted in the first place! hehe. My question 'evolved'!

I worked it out myself after playing around anyway smile

just found this while searching for 502 does not mean its true"the Panasonic KX-TVA50 Voicemail System is configured for 2 Ports and 4 Hours Voice of Storage. This voicemial can be expanded up to 6 ports and 8 hours of storage by adding Panasonic KX-TVA502 2 port expansion cards. Note: This option is NOT available when the KX-TVA50 voicemail system is being used with the KX-TA624 or KX-TA824 phone systems. It can only be used as a 2 port voicemail."

I found that info some time ago. That is true for older firmware for the 824, but the latest firmware allows for it.

Do you mean Utility/Port Status?

If so all four ports are marked as 'ready'
Calling 107 and 108, the ports change to 'incoming call'
115 and 116 nadda - busy tone and ports remain 'ready'

Maybe there is a way to test the analogue (APT mode) ports via the command console?

I wonder if anyone can point me to the latest firmware for the 824? I understand 3.0.3l is available.

Its 3.0.9 and you need latest PCMC to load it

in screen 1.2 on TA left hand corner

you have a tick in APT and you have selected
seems TVA knows the 502 is in there JACK 07 & 08 & 15 & 16 and you have 4 4 cond line cords patched Jacks 7/8/15/16 from ta to tva and tried reversing 15 & 16 line cords if yes in tva do you have ports 1-4 in service group one

I noticed that you changed some exts to 15x could you have changed jacks/ext 115/116 to something else?if you ring 108 does tva answer?

3.0.9 wow I'm on way old firmware.

In screen 1.2 - APT selected for jacks 07/08 & 15/16

Screen 2.6 - Jacks 07/08 in hunt grp 7, jacks 15/16 in hunt grp 8, Hunt grps 7 and 8 set to Circular

Once this was setup I ran the Quick setup on the TVA, I set it for 624/824 APT intergration and finished setup.

I can call 107 and 108 fine - VPS answers.
115 and 116 is busy and in TVA port diags there is no indication of the port going in use.

there are no hunt groups they are ext groups on 824 there is no need to group the vm exts they are already in group by virtue of being flagged as vm apt ports

I have never added a 502 after the fact If it were me id back the tva up and reintialize the tva and reload

Sorry, as usual I am using the wrong terminology. They are described as 'extension hunting groups' on the 824.

This is what I did under guidance from the TVA installation manual:

When Port 7 & 8 is selected in program [130], extension jack numbers 07 and 08 will be in extension group 7 automatically. Likewise, when Port 15 & 16 is selected in program [131], extension jack numbers 15 and 16 will be in extension group 8 automatically. Also the Extension Hunting type is set as Circular automatically in each of these 2 extension groups.

In Pt programming 130 would be 7/8 & 15/16.

131 would be Disable.

Also I managed to get hold of the newer firmware for the TA (3.0.9), so it's nice to be current, but it did not (of course) fix the issue. The issue is/was and will probably always be the loose screw typing this message help
