I have a client who would like to be able to place calls from within another application (Filemaker) on their PCs. Does anyone know if any of the solutions Panasonic (or anyone else) offers can be called from another program and automatically dial a number?

Thanks

If you install a DHLC card and plug the modem from the computer into the XDP port any PC program can then use the extension to dial out in parallel mode and the dialed string will even display on the phones LCD screen.

That's a really good idea and might even work to display caller ID.

You would need a special card for caller ID to analog devices to display it. Not sure it would display on XDP but would on Analog extension card for sure but then you would loose the ability to dial out with PC then pick up phone to have conversation like you can do with XDP.

you could get the ca server software and put ca client software on pc, this will allow dialing from the pc to the extension.

What Dalavar said will work, but you will have to pick up the handset to hear if the call is ringing or engaged( or have a modem with a speaker). once the caller answers, you will have to pickup the handset or press speaker phone for them to hear you, then click hang up on the pc. the CA software will use the digital phone and if you gave a headset you don't even have to touch the phone
