I hope someone can help; I am trying to configure incoming calls to go to an extension user’s own personal message area when there is no answer.

The Feature Manual notes that “An extension user can set incoming calls to be forwarded to his or her personal message area, when he or she cannot answer them. If an incoming call, direct to the user's extension, or a call using the DISA AA service, is forwarded to the user's personal message area, the caller will hear a personal BV OGM and can leave a voice message.”

I am using the DISA AA service to direct CO calls to the desired extensions but I have only been able to get a Common BV OGM to play and the messages that are left go into the Common Message Area. What does work is that internal extension-to-extension calls do pay the Personal BV OGM and those messages go to the personal message area.

How is the system configured to force the extension’s Personal BV OGM to play if the extension is not answered and the message left to be placed in that extension’s Personal Message Area?

Equipment:
KX-TA824; Firmware: 3.0.9
KX-TA82492; 2-Channel Voice Message Card

You need to forward busy/no answer each ext that has a mailbox and has recorded his or hers greeting to the BV then if someone has a intercom call or if someone presses a key that is set to transfer to that ext during disa ogm it will wind up in the mailbox.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I believe this is how I have it setup and that is what has me stumped. Intercom calls work as expected but incoming call from COs do not go to the Personal Message Area.

Here is the relevant configuration (I think) for extension #103:

2.2 (71) - FWD type: FWD Busy N/A; Dest: BV
8.1 (622) - BV for Ext.: (checked)
8.2 (438) - DISA IRNA to BV: 'Not Stored' for D,N & L all COs. If this is set to any of the BVs, the Common BV OGM is payed and the message goes to the Common Message Area.

I must have something set in the system that is preventing the personal BV OGM from being used. Any ideas?

Thank you for your time and patience.

Yes; I noticed that using the DISA IRNA to BV setting did not work (as noted before). I tried that and only the Common Message Area (OGM and mailbox) would be used. So I set it back to 'Not Stored'.

You indicated that I need to “DIL to DISA”. I could not find anywhere in the documentation or within the Maintenance Console that would allow me to do that. The only thing I found was in 3.1 (414) which allow me to direct a CO to an extension using the DIL Type. This does not work for me as I’m using DISA AA to direct Outside Callers to the appropriate group and then extension. If the party is not there, I want the caller to be able to leave a message in that extension’s Personal Message Area if there is no answer.

If you could provide more detail on how to configure the system to use the extension’s Personal Message Area (OGM and mailbox) when the extension is not answered after being directed there by DISA AA services, I would appreciate it.

Thanks again,
Rob

PS: Current configuration for the system and extension #103:

2.2 (71) – FWD type: FWD Busy N/A; Destination is set to: BV
3.1 (414) – Type set to: DISA; Detail: OGM1 for D,N & L.
6.1 (500) – DISA Incoming Call Dial Mode is set to “With AA”
6.2 (511) – Security Mode: TRUNK
6.2 (506) – Busy Mode: DISA, OGM 8
6.2 (507) – Intercept Mode: Intercept
6.2 (510) – No Dial Mode: Disconnect
6.3 (516) – DISA Incoming Assignment: all Jacks are checked
8.1 (622) - BV for Ext.: (checked)
8.2 (438) - DISA IRNA to BV: 'Not Stored' for D,N & L all COs.

The way it is configured in my last note, the following occurs: CO1 receives call, PBX answers and plays OGM1, caller selects two AA options which direct it to extension 103, extension rings, and after about 5 rings the call is cancelled.

If I change the configuration so that IRNA goes to BV01, the following occurs: CO1 receives call, PBX answers and plays OGM1, caller selects two AA options which direct it to extension 103, extension rings, after 2 rings the call is answered and plays Common OGM and then records message into the Common Message Area.

If I make an Intercom call from extension 101 to 103, the Personal OGM on extension 103 is played after 3 rings, and the messages is recorded in the Personal Message Area.

As requested:
1.6 (202) is set to the default of 15s
8.2 (719) is set to the default of ‘B: send #6+ext no.’

Note: There is no VPS connected to the system

Thank you for helping me with this setup problem.

Testing this morning revealed something interesting. If DISA AA directs a CO caller to extension 103, and that extension is busy, the Personal OGM is played and the message left go into the extension’s Personal Message Area.

Now the only question is why a CO call is being forced to the Common Message Area when that extension is not answered.

This may sound crazy take one 103 out of the ext group that you are using for group ringing and dial in from outside and make a test call to 103 wait for 15 secs do you wind up in 103's mail box?
