Hi,

I am trying to control the Door Opener from an outside CO call (only I would know that feature). The system is KX-TD816 v1 and KX-TVP200 v1 in DPT integration mode, doorphone card present but no door phone connected. I would normally do this when my call is answered by the VPS. I was thinking of:

-Create and connect one analog extension port to the second CO port on the 816 (currently have only one real CO line equipped),
-Enable the 2nd CO line,
-In the VPS, set up Remote Call Forwarding to CO line for that new looped extension. Program 551 (code to open door) as the external CO forwarding phone number.

A door opening call would be:
-When withing the VPS, dial #8 (call transfer) and dial that fake extension number. This should seize the 2nd CO line and dial 551 into the looped extension, opening the door.

It is twisted, I admit , but will it work? Is there an easier way of doing this?

Just wanted to update everyone on the above solution. I have tried it and it works well as described. Only difference is that the call forwarding to CO line was actually set up in the '816, not in the TVP200. And since I own a '816 v1, I had to set up the forwarding to CO with a telephone on the extension, as the v1 firmware does not allow configuration via software.
