Any phone, or any extension wiring plugged onto jack 1 works, but if the other extensions are plugged into 2-8 it dumps the system. Something isn't making sense. With a known working phone plugged into jack one, all is good. When any other extension cabling is plugged into 2-8 your KSU dies? Correct. How about if you plug all phones into the KSU at the KSU with their respective line cords? What goes on then??

Sounds like a power supply problem! Time for a replacement cabinet. Did this start right after, or shortly after, a thunderstorm?

Your statement is correct. I will try plugging all phones into the KSU at the KSU with their respective cords and report back in a few minutes. Thanks

Closeout problem: After plugging all phones into assigned Jacks at KSU, I experienced same problem. Conclusion - KSU defect. Will return unit for warranty repair. FYI, problem did not occur around thunderstorm.
Thanks for the help.

You'd better think about what took the KSU out. That power supply is only supporting 1/3 of the phones it's rated for! Highly doubtful that it's a defective part, as opposed to external influences. POWER SURGE, previous lightning strikes that weakened components, Overtemp because of phone room conditions, whatever! Get some serious protection on that sucker!

Yes you could do what you just described but the whole point to phone 101 trouble shooting and the above thread is to plug in one phone at a time and left to right until the system fails......
