I have a new-to-me Panasonic VB 42020 which is a 6x16 system. I have the manuals (I have several, but I'm referring now to "Programming Guidance Manual, Section 400 Issue 1. January 1990"). System is installed and connected to my 66-blocks, but I still await provision of CO lines from phone company. I powered it up an connected a display phone to port 1 (K-Tel 1, or extension 10) and it shows date Jan 1, 1990. I decided to change the system date and did the following:
On/Off -- time/date is cleared
Prog -- F is displayed
# key -- F# is displayed
# key -- F## is displayed
PSD 1 -- S0001001 is displayed
I note that the manual says that when I press the second # key, the display should say "Program Mode Main Mode", but mine does not. Undeterred, I carry on:
0001# -- handset produces busy signal
120609# -- handset continues to produce busy signal
On/Off -- it's quiet again
However, the display reverts to show date Jan 1, 1990 instead of my desired June 9, 2012. I appear to be unable to change the system date.
If I enter programming mode using the following key sequence, I'm able to page through the settings using the # key to advance:
On/Off, Program, ##
This makes me think I'm able to get into program mode, at least far enough to be able to see what's in memory, but I seem unable to change the settings (for, say, the date). What am I doing wrong when I am trying to get into a mode in which I can change program settings?
Thanks for the help,
David
