I have a customer that has shorted/broken copper that run from BT to his pbx system. There is no way to run a new feed without ripping up his "very expensive floor". Does anyone know of a way to do this wirelessly. He has two copper lines they need to extend about 40' and it must work with PBX. Ive seen a cheap product (analog to give an outlet where unable) but I do not believe it will work with a phone system.

Is it possible to use one of the extra pairs in one of the station cables? If you can get dial-tone to on of the station jacks then ride the station cable back to the pbx would be a better set up than a wireless solution.

You can do a MUX/DeMux setup, where you hook up channel banks back-to-back, but channel banks are expensive. It could easily be a four-digit price tag.

you say BT so I presume you are in the uk, cant see why these could not work (see link ), gives you dt and ring so should pass through to system to a analouge line card. If its ISDN you will have to get copper to it.But copper wire all the way is the best thing as it could cause problems down the road. Could you go out side with cable and come in at the system or some where there is no expensive floor between system https://www.maplin.co.uk/SEODynamicPages/module.asp?ModNo=97658

There probably are a few ways to run a new cable other than under that "very expensive floor". Talk to somebody who knows what they are doing.

Yes all pairs are bad. There are two cat5 cables being used for his feed I was able to get one pair using 1 wire from each cable to work. The quality of course sucks but at least it was something. The copper is good to a pull box about 40' short of system. I was hoping to put something there. I have tried the product linked above but it didnt work with system. (think ring voltage was to low) There is no Station cable that is anywhere close to building terminal to use. ""There probably are a few ways to run a new cable other than under that "very expensive floor". Talk to somebody who knows what they are doing."" There are allways other ways!!! D.H. On the outside of the house there is a huge fountain in the way. It would be no cheaper trying to do it that way. The only other way would be to tear up drywall , and part of floor, he was some kind of weird textured walls and doesnt want to do that either. I dont know enough about how to setup a chanell bank to work in this way. As for the 4 figure price tag. If the product could be purchased and installed for less then 2000$ I dont believe this customer will care!

Get telco involved and explain the situation. They may be able to provide a UDC and extend it to your closet. Essentially, using this device will allow for telco to send a digital signal on 1 copper pair, once it hits the UDC it can break-out to 4 analog lines.
More than likley they will say tough-shat, but its worth a try.
