I need to provide analog drops through our switch to four conference rooms for use with a Polycom Conference phone. I'm not positive of my working switches Software release. I have a slot available in the switch. I also inherited parts from a merger. I have a MPD card with Generic SBU5.03 cartridge and an SHD Card.
How do I determine the Generic of the working switch? I access working console using dkeybx.bat file is stored in a directory named PCPSB7.
Do I need to track down an ELA card?
Do I need any external devices (ie ringer, power) to use the analog card?

You said that you accessed the system with SB7? If you can get in and program then it's a realse 7.??. You need a SLC card for single line conf sets and if you want them to ring you will need a power source also. Get with Sundance and they can help you get what you need.

Thanks for the lead and info. I'm a network admin by trade, phone system admin by organizational chart. When I run the dkeybx.bat file that I use to program the switch, in path YC-SC, for card configuration, the option of SLC doesn't appear among the choices in reverse video at the bottom of the screen. Among the options are SLD, and ELA.
I really appreciate the information that you guys make available.

SLC just means Single Line Card, The actual cards would be a ONS (16 port) or SLD (8 port)
The ELA are for the older analog system phones so they will work with the digital system.

yes, I'm sorry I didn't spot that. There is a chance that the SHD may need a chip upgrade to work with the 7

There's also an HONS which is an 8 port single line card for on-premise. If you want them to ring youll need a ring generator. ------------------ | Need a Telephone | Telephone Installers

The SHD card has two removable chips:
1 DIP SLD V2.F U8 3530 17.09.95 2 A square job with N80C152JA L7195098C
Are these the updated chips?
Also, thanks for your input test-ok. What is the difference between HONS and the SHD?
