I have been working in my spare time to get this Telrad Digital400 system up & running at my church. Thanks to you guys that have helped answer my other questions.

I thought it was ready to go, but some testing this afternoon showed up one problem yet.

External calls that are routed to MDN DNs by the auto-attendant (either via single-digit dialing or the caller dialing 1+ ext#) will not forward to voice mail if the extension is not answered. Internal calls to these same extensions forward to voicemail properly. External calls routed to non-MDN DNs also forward to voicemail properly.

Example- The main receptionist has DN 40 as her primary DN. DN 40 also has a flashing appearance on two other receptionist's phones. External calls are properly routed to DN 40 by the auto-attendant, but if DN 40 is not answered, it just continues to ring and never forwards to voice mail. Internal calls to DN 40 forward to voicemail after 4 rings, just like they are supposed to. External calls to non-MDN DNs also work correctly.

This has pretty much halted my progress, as the ability for external callers to leave voicemail messages for all staff members is one of the requirements I was given.

The Digital400 system is running software version 3.05, and IMAGEN is 5.0.
From previous comments that I have received, I gather that 3.05 doesn't support MDNs very well. Is this the cause of my problem? Is 3.05 capable of doing what I am trying to do?

The previous owner had planned to do a software upgrade for the system, but never got around to it. He sent along an extra MPD memory cartridge with DBU5.05C, several EEPROMS for the other boards (ELD, OCD, & COL), and an 11-disk set of floppies with IMAGEN version 5.50E. I hadn't planned to do the upgrade either, using the "if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it" principle, but maybe I need to. Is this a fairly easy task for someone who is experienced working with electronic equipment (electronics tech/engineer for 30 yrs)?

I really appreciate the help the folks in this forum have given to me in getting this system up & running. Hopefully, I'll run out of problems (and questions) soon!

Larry - My understanding is that calls will not forward out of an MDN group.

Wait here for a response from SSPhone, or e-mail him. He's your guy.........

In single Digit dial on the voicemail set it to Screened. if you are key. if you are unscreened in PBX mode it doesn't work that well in SB 3.X but you can try to set up an ext to forward the group in mdn groups. Make a memory key for that group on the ext you assigned and hit that key when you go off hook and dail th CFNA code (ussally Feat 36)then the voicemail hunt group.

Yep- I'm all set with ApGen. Thanks for your help. I'm not sure that the "Check" event is working like I expected it to, but that's no big deal. My problem now is that once my ApGen script sends an external call to a DN that is an MDN, it won't go to voicemail if not answered. The DN just rings, but never goes to voicemail, even though I have CFNA set to forward to voicemail. It works on internal calls to these extensions. Is this something that isn't supported under DBU3.05, or will it never work regardless of software version?

BTW- I may be a little slow to answer for the next couple of days. I'm taking my turn with the rest of Michigan for having the flu.

Just make a mailbox for the MDN and set the transfer to screened.
