I installed an 8/18 IPEX1 today. when I telnetted into vm to change IP, the address that I entered was incorrect. I double-checked the address before I rebooted the vm. what are my options to find that IP? I downloaded Ethereal but I don't know if I am using it correctly.

Is this a new Ipex 32port from telrad?

If so I would double check the IP addres in you laptop. I live here in NEW YORK and I've seen them test the card berfore it goes out. Also the Ipex runs alot slower than the E-maning Tower. When you telnet in it might take a good 30-60 Seconds

Make sure your IP address in your lap top is right.
10.0.0.xxx
255.255.255.0
Default gateway Shouldn't matter but you have to put one in.

Telnet Delays of 30-60 seconds.. DNS issue usually.

Does the IPEX have a configuration item for DNS Server? Typically if telnet/ftp/web requests delay 30,45 or 60 seconds before completing, its because the server (IPEX) is trying to look up your ip address to get the hostname.

Specifying 0.0.0.0 for DNS usually solves this. I just upgraded from ec1.07 to ec1.20 for my IP phones and they made a change that required a DNS server. Upshot was phones would boot intermittently, because the FTP server took 45 seconds to start a session.
