We have a current 128 system with Version 6 software running at our church.

We have been given a different whole 128 system 3 shelves and all the cards including a IVM 4.00J system. We have set up the system given to us as a test system and got the phone system up, but when we turn on the IVM system it runs through everything and starts fine, but it shows that it is not connected. I have check the cables and everything appears to be wired correctly, the IVM software shows that cards installed in the computer, but again no connection with the phone system.

Any ideas or help in trouble shooting this system would be very helpful.

It sounds like it's either the wiring or you don't have the correct MiM mod position on the OCD card.

We are working on checking the cable wiring. The MIM card is in the top location on the card, we have not moved it from when the system was delivered to us. Our phone thinks the wiring is correct, but he doesn't have a manual, he is working off the manual from our current Version 6 system.

I noticed that on the IVM software screen, there is a status screen that says VMI Application Cards (Y/N) and it say "N" even though the software shows the card install on the same page. Also on that page is where is says Connectivity "None".

Do you have any information the correct wiring for this system, mainly the cables out of the computer and in to the wiring block.

Thanks

If you have all the programming and wiring correct I would check to see what baud you have the IVM set at 4800 or 9600.

Both the 128 and IVM setup are set to 9600, but the they don't seem to see each other.

Sounds to me like the data port on the AVC card is bad.

We are getting closer. Now the IVM software says that it can see the 4 data ports that are on the card, but on the same page it say connectivity=None and at the bottom of the page it says IVM application card=N

So, now it sees the ports and we can dial the station, but no answer.

Do you have the premade IVM cables or did you make them up yourself? You do know that the data cable connects to the RJ45 on the OCD card and the voice channels are on the MDF of the OCD.

If you have a executive set, Dial the voicemail access code on that set and see if you get the messages on the display.

Leave a message

Your mailbox

If that comes up, you have your voice cable wired wrong.
If you are using the cable provide by telrad use a B-type data jack and hook it up as follow.
w/bl goes to pin 8
bl/w goes to 7
w/o goes to 6
or/w goes to 5
w/gr goes to 4
gr/w goes to 3
w/br goes to 2
br/w goes to 1

then on the ocd cut down w/b pair goes to W/bl, w/or pair goes to w/slate, w/gr goe to r/bl, w/br goes to r/gr.

Make sure the mim is on the bottom of the ocd if it not don,t move the MIM tell us were it is and I give you the new cut down on the ocd. or you will have to reprogram the system.
