I ran into a problem yesterday that is new to me. I was trying to dial into a version 7.36 s400 which has the old OCD and modem chips so I have to use dkeybx to connect to it instead of Emanager. I have 8 or 9 different 7.XX versions of the dkeybx software. In the past I have always used db7.33b since it was the latest version I could find. So, I connected, had to run a full backup b/c my boss changed something and didn't upload the new config to the server, and tried to enter online programming mode. Dkeybx crashed and I got a windows error dialog telling me it had crashed and an error log was being generated. I thought this was odd, tried again, same result. I called tech support and Rob told me if I was really lucky this might be a corrupt config. wheee, I was overjoyed. Before I actually got up off my ass to go to the site, I decided to dial in with a different version of the dkeybx software. I tried 7.32, 7.30, and 7.20 all with the same exact result. On a whim I tried 7.22 and I was shocked to instantly enter the online programming menu. Finally we get to my question. Has anybody experienced anything similiar to this? Are there versions of the dkeybx software that are more stable, less stable? I always get the same response from tech support. Upgrade the chips. Yah, I do when I eventually go to these sites, but I don't have the time to schedule a service call to each telrad customer just to upgrade their modem/ocd chips. Comments on anything to do with remotely connecting to telrads in any way would be wonderful as well.
Oh, btw, I had to go onsite today to fix a dead phone and the config isn't corrupt, thank the telephony gods. I forgot the damn ocd and modem chips though.

I only have problem's connecting in these situtations. 1200 modems I need an old modem on my side so I have an external 2400 modem. sb7.01 - sb7.39 eithier I can get in with e-manager or the PCP. I have no other problems other that sometimes I have to have the customer reset the system cause I can't get in at all. The chip upgrades on the memory cart. side is for gliches in the system. So people get them other don't it matters what features there using in the system. I only upgrade if I see a problem that I know of or if telrad has me do it. AND I THINK I SHOULD GET SOME MONEY FROM TELRAD WHEN IT"S A UPGRADE PROBLEM. BECUASES IT"S A WASTED OF MY TIME. ------------------ Need cable or other voice/data hardware? Here's your link. Well I have never had any problems with remote to 7.34 and below, I use an older Toshiba with 98se and it never lets me down remote or direct. About the only problem I have had is once in a while the switch side modem gives a busy and I have the cust do a reset and we are up and running.
