I am supporting a 2464 system that has an IVM voicemail system on it. I am not sure of the ver of the software but the PC is very very old and the owner wants to know if I can put it on a newer PC. He doesn;t have any of the software can anyone help me know what he needs to purchase? thanks

Both are antiques. If I remember correctly, the IVM o/s was DOS (6.22 or even earlier). The IVM is most likely not supported anymore. You could try a backup/restore to a new PC or move the existing HDD/voice card/dongle over. I'd be afraid to touch it, if works don't fix it...

That sort of makes sense, if they want to move it to a newer PC for reliability, then Try it. Just make sure that the newer PC has an ISA slot. Move the Voice card & hard drive over to it. I would highly recommend a BACKUP before doing so. Also, there is a 50% chance that it may not work, but at least you can always put it back.

You will need a 286 or 386 PC to do this. DW the 2464 IVM was orginally DOS 3.3
