We have a 400 running DB6.15. When the receptionist pages, using the overhead speaker system, at the end of the page it does not disconnect afterwards. We also have music running throught the same speakers which gets cut off when a page goes through. So no music until it finally disconnects itself which is usually overnight. This problem just came up over the last 2 to 3 weeks. We are using an external Valcomm unit to handle to overhead part of the system. Any ideas anyone? Thank you in advance for replies.

Sounds like the Valcom is picking up noise from the input line or it has a relay sticking. Try connecting butt set and monitor input line for noise after page

No it sounds like you have a OCD/MIM problem. Do you have a way to look at the system programming to fing the correct voice channel you are using for external paging?

Using a group DN of 80 on Trunk 512. I don't see any channel set up for paging. But maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Under Service Resources for the first of two OCD cards I have 2 MIM Modules with voice channels 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 relays of 1,2,3,4 and sensors 1,2,3,4 Second OCD has a Modem only. OLC External Pages page is blank. BGM and MOH both use voice channel 10. Where else should I look for it? I don't think we're using the proper set up for the page system. It was setup by a Telrad vendor 10 years ago and I kept it with the same settings when I went to the 400 from the 128 about 2 years ago. When you page the music cuts off then returns. Used to be back on in about 15-30 seconds. Now its intermittent from minutes to overnight before the music comes back. Meantime you can hear the groan of the page unit on the overhead speakers until it seems to finally disconnect the page. But paging again during this period is not a problem either.
