Okay I can't take this anymore-
I bought a completely new box to replace our 8/18 (believe it or not Our house needed more than 18 extensoins and we now have 4 incomming co turnks!)
We run the new MPD386 /w SBS 6.0(something) everything works great with one exception -
The voicemail server keeps dropping offline unexpectedly. This gets to be a pain because all the incomming trunks are answered by auto attendant.
The voicemail pc hasn't changed at all, it's still IVM v3.50 /w an AVC connected to the MIM in the OCD.
It seems to happen every 24 hours....
Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
I've got the IVM/serial apps screen configured exactly the same as the old 8/18 v3.05 box.
Thanks again for your input.

Try turning off maintances. But I think you have the other problems. I don't think that AVC is support by PCP 6.XX. you might have to goto a dvc voicemail. You can also try upgrade the chip on the OCD and MIM MIM should be 2.6 But I'm not sure about the OCD. (somelse will tell you in this posted). Telrad came out with software that would send a signal to the voicemail so that no after market voicemails could go on there system but that came out in SB5.03 I think they got rid of it in sb7.XX. I'm not sure in what version. But I'm not sure about this. why don't you just goto sb3 128. Or do you need the new features in sb 6. I can get you the 128 sb3 if you want it? I can also show you how to upgrade the 8/18 so you don't have to reprogram.
Hope this helps

You have to upgrade the software in the IVM to at least 4.00J (4.00K was the last ver with all of the fixes) for the voicemail to run and not drop the data link. You may also need a chip on the OCD card and if the MIM's cart isnt 2.6 you will need that one also. Didnt you tell me awhile back you have a ImaGen voicemail also?

The MIM is 2.6 The OCD has a chip that's V2 D3 The it says style D4
I didn't have to have SBSv6 - it's just what came with the new box I bought... I kinda liked having the v3 on the 8/18 but we just ran out of extensions.... PM me with the cost of v3 128 if possible.
SSPhone -
Do you know where I could get a copy of 4.00j or k?
I may have been in error before about ImaGen - it's what the keyboard had on it...
And do you also thinnk I need a DVC instead of an AVC?
Thanks again for all the help!

The DVC works in ImaGen v.5 thru 7 IVM v.4 and below use AVC. Upgrading to ImaGen would not be a bad idea though.

Believe it or not I actually found a copy of Iamgen 6.00 (something) I think j, but never the less it doesn't work with an AVC - I'm going to check eBay tommorow for a DVC uasually they run about 80-90 clams....
On a side note the whole VM server took a big *$&@ today and wouldn't boot up at all. I restorded the backup and it got me to the blue screen with the version 3.50C USA and the clock in the top right corner but nothing else, no menu selections or the red banner at the top - I was fuming to put it lightly.....
To make a long story short and don't ask me how I figured it out, I had to sys the hard drive with the win 98 boot code (DOS 7.10) instead of the DOS 6.22 that was on it when I last backed it up. After that it booted up and worked flawlessly - but I gaarentee it'll still loose the data link in 24 hours.....
Anyone have any luck finding IVM 4.00?

Geoff I as a Telrad Dealer I have the 4.00K software available. But as stated in https://www.sundance-communications.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?/ubb/get_topic/f/10/t/000524.html as long as this is listed in the price sheets I can and will charge for it. With what you post about the PC you may have more issues than just the software. As far as the ImaGen software rel6 should use 6.01E. And you posted your OCD chip level it needs to be 2-F4 or above for both the 400K and 6. I got to say this for you you have done a hell of a good job getting all of this installed and fixed up. I just wish you would quit buying other peoples problems and cast offs on eBay and buy from someone that tested or refurbed equipment. And I am not saying me I am thinking more on the lines of the guys who bring us this site. Sundance.

OK-
I bought Ver. 4.00k IVM (Thanks Steve) and v.2 F-4 OCD Chip (Thanks Sundance) and it's been about 27 hours and I haven't lost the data link yet.... (but boy was my mother-in-law pretty honked off when she had to re-set up her voice mail box!!) :bang:
Now With Steve's help getting the horn hooked up out back will complete our house's conversion!
I'll have to mess with the app gen. because the pre-recorded routing isn't the same in the vm box in ver. 4
Thanks again for everyone's help!
