We have run out of space in our phone system (Telrad 128) and are looking at a solution of moving to a 400 system. I have asked this question before but it was over a year ago, and now we have to move.

My questions is what do we need to do to our old 128 cards to make them work in a 400 with version 7.2? Where do we find the parts and what will it cost approx. per card.

Thanks,

Mark Rock

MPD card is no longer used! It's replaced with the 400 MPD card along with the memory cartridge. All other cards may or may not need a chip upgrade. Your Telrad dealer should have a list for what version you will need and all costs.

That is the problem, we don't have a dealer, we are getting a system used from a company. I have a helper here that has 30 years of phone experince with our local phone company and he has maintained and installed our current 128 system. The 400 system will come with working parts MPD card and other, but as we expand I want to be able to move the cards from the old system to the new, that is why I am looking for chips and help in figuring out which card will need to be updated to work.

Thanks again,

FYI before you go through all of the install and programming at the very least get a 7.42 chip set for the memory cartridge. It was the last version of software released for the 400. But that has been several years ago. You can really bring yourself upto date replacing the MPD/Memory Cartridge combo with a MPD2 or IPeX if you need voicemail.
