The pri card is losing the link to the provider. I would contact the provider. They can do testing on the ciruit. I would start there first.

Question to ask, do you have a CSU on the PRI? If not you need one.

From webopedia : Short for Channel Service Unit/Data Service Unit. The CSU is a device that connects a terminal to a digital line. Typically, the two devices are packaged as a single unit. The dSU is a device that performs protective and diagnostic functions for a telecommunications line. You can think of it as a very high-powered and expensive modem. Such a device is required for both ends of a T-1 or T-3 connection, and the units at both ends must be set to the same communications standard.
A CSU is required by Telrad and if this was called into Telrad Tech support it would be the 1st thing asked for.

If you have one it will be a device between the Smart Jack and the PRI.
A cable will go from your PRI card to the CSU and another cable from the CSU to the Telco Smart Jack.

Thanks for the info. There is a CSU mounted on the wall. It seems to be functioning. I asked our service provider to run diagnostics on the link. They reported no errors.
A system reset: 2 System Utilities Menu, 6 System Reset. returns the switch to service.
During the reset; a message scrolls by which states that the IVM App is up on 2 1 (OCD card)
Another message shoots by
msg 83 diagnostics appl inconsistant on 2 1
I then exit and restart the IVM program and things seem to come back.
Seems to be a problem between:
P24 card and outside service provider
Problem between IVM and P24
Problem with OCD MIM Card?
Are there diagnostic tools, or practices, which would allow me to isolate my problem?
Tempers are running short!!

I don't think that the voicemail would be causing your problem with losing the link to the provider. (msg 83 diagnostics appl inconsistant on 2 1) That is a commom MSG and has nothing to do with your issue to the best of my knowledge.
If tempers are running short, I would hire a local Telrad dearler so they can isolate your problem correctly.
