This will happen ever so often that one of the analog sets will show a message waiting indictor light and there are no messages in the mail box when the user checks, but the light will still be on.

It's probably a call back MSG. Hit the MSG button once and see what is say's on the display.
If you have no display hit # MSG button and that will clear your Problem.
If it's a Single Line Phone (Reg Analog, Not a Telrad Analog) Go off hook and Hit # 763.
