Hey Folks! Were running an 8/18 v5.?? and having an issue... We're using a viking W-2000A Speaker phone intercom for the front door as the third trunk. Here's the issue--- The system is requiring us to dial a number or it hangs up automatically with a fast busy. ALSO it has a three second delay before it "re-dials" the touch tones you just dialed. Is there anyway around this? The delay is the most important thing. Thanks Geoff

Not really sure on what you mean by this. I think this unit is just a door box. Don't know why you need to dail an access code. When I use these units I believe they give off battery/ground so you should be able to dail the trunk access code (850 is what I make them)and talk over the door box unit. I think you might have the one of the voice cable broken. That would ring into the system but when you pick it up you would get no audio and the trunk would drop out. When you hit the call button it would ring through again. Or do you have a Viking Acees relay unit (not sure how to word it but it releases a door by dialing a code). I would bypass this unit for test.

No no relays, but before you are able to talk to the fount door the audio is muted (they can't hear you) until 3 seconds later. It seems like in this time the dtmf is listening to see what your going to dial and then waiting 3 seconds to dial it. I would like for this to go away altogether. I would like to just pick up a trunk and NOT have to press ANY touch tones and have it stay connected instead of it hanging up on you thinking you're not going to make a call. (if you don't push anything after the trunk code (803 in our case) it will automatically hang up on you. I hope this is more clear, it's hard to explain in words.... Geoff

Here's the book for that Viking unit https://www.vikingelectronics.com/products/pdf/w1-2000a-ewp.pdf I would try these things. 1: Try hooking your BUTT set directly to the door box and see if you have the same problem.(you don't have to hook it into a trunk port) 2: Try putting a working POTS Line into the trunk port the door box unit is using. 3: Try dialing the direct trunk port on the Telrad system and see if you can talk to someone at the door box unit. 4: Make sure First Digit Timeout Timer is set for unlimited I don't see the Telrad system dropping the line or having to dial a digit to get this unit to repsond. This might be reaching but maybe the hook switch on the Phone thats ringing is sticking alittle bit. I put these unit in all the time and never had this type of issue. Please post back when you find out the problem.
