I have a Telrad Digital S400 system that has 20 or so phones connected to it. I have one extension that keeps going dead or rebooting at random. I have replaced the phone with a known good unit, replaced cabling, jacks and all connectors, I have moved this extension to several different cards in the system. I have even blown out the extension in the system and rebuilt it, and the problem remains. Could you please help me.

Is this a Digital Set or Avanti? If digital (station 20) Try putting it on it's own BUS (a know good BUS)and make sure it has a diffrent Highway.

Avanti set Put on a know good BUS and change the Highway.

Either Avanti or digital, Try resetting the system and reseat card the telephone is on.

If Tony's suggestion doesn't work, try moving the bad extension to Ghost port (no physical card) and build a fresh extension for that phone. Sometimes when you "blow away" the programmed extension, and build a new one, it builds the new extension on the same programming "highway". Could just be a bad highway. I remember doing this many times as a Telrad Service Tech over the years.

If I physically move the phone wire from one card to another wouldn’t that change the highway?

When you moved the jumper to a different card, did you go into programming and use the tranfer extention feature to move the DN? If you did you move the highway with it.
What is the system software level? and the type of phone?

Yes I did move the DN with the transfer extension feature. So if I blow out the extension again and rebuild it on a different card this will change the highway correct?

Move the DN back to where it was before. Then make a new DN where you moved the jumper to. Then change the DN in Station Attributes.
This is as far as I go on here, more than willing to help off the forum.

I removed every thing about the problem extension from the system. I then rebuilt the extension on an entirely different ULD card, and then physically moved the wire to the new card, and the problem still remains. I have had herd some talk about static sometimes causing these problems, which I hesitate to blame this issue on because the phone girl is elbow to elbow with others not having this issue. Is static electricity really an issue with the 3015’s? Do you think I should assign a new extension # to this person, do you think this would make a difference? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Inickels, try replacing the Telephone with one you know works. If you still have the same issue I recommend changing the highway. Static Shocks usually knocks out the handset and I feel this is not your issue.

What you are doing in your above post will not change the highway.

I would also recommend contacting a moderator for tech support. Anyone of us can help you.
