I have a customer that uses her speakerphone in her cubicle to dial out and wants to know if she can shut off the keypad tones when she dials as it disturbs the people next to her. She picks up the phone when the called party answers.system is a IPEX2 and the customer is using a station 3015D phone. I could not find anything in COS or station attributes. Thanks Doug

Of course the easiest answer is fotr the custumer to be considerate of the people in the first place. Other than that It's always amazes me that the customer would expect something like that to be "engineered", that is, DTMF automatically cut off but not the voice path...You should be glad that it's DTMF and not ROTARY! I believe that you are just going to have to tell the customer that unless they are using a headset, the disturbing noise is going to be transmitted through - The speaker, or
- the handset.
Good Luck

Doug This is sure a new one. Never had anyone complain that the dialing sound was so loud it disturbed others. I wonder if they are bothered when she talks also? You are correct thou there is not a program that removes the comfort tones. Does the customer have a TVSe? If not it may be a way to make a sale. The TVSe also has Web Portal and Connegy Dialer that would allow her to dial with Outlook or from a personal speed dial list with no tones at all.

Pick up the handset and do not bother other people. Stop thinking of only yourself.

I have notice that sometimes a phone does give out a loud beep when dialing. I found that it happens mostly on digital SD2 set’s (Station 20-old style phones). That's the one with the 8-button display module. I notice this only after the processor has been upgraded to a higher version like an IPEX
I see that the phone in question is a 3015 Avanti. Check to see if this phone is much louder than other phones; if so try replacing the set. You could also check the software version of the set. Check to see you version is current with other 3015 phones on the system.
Also check to see if the paper mat has been removed from inside the phone. This mat should be over the speaker.
Good Luck and let us know what you find out.
