Hi,

New to the list here. We are a VoIP carrier and have a customer who is attempting to use our service with a Telrad 128 KSU (software v.5) with a Linksys analog adapter SPA-8000.

The symptoms we are seeing are:
1. Many times the lines do not get released after a party hangs up. Or there is a significant delay before the line is available again for a new call. I.e. the light on the phone turns red for several seconds and then goes off.

2. Calls are dropped

Anyone have any advice? Are there any technical documents that would tell us what the default settings on the Telrad are so we can tweak the SPA-8000 to match?

Thanks in advance.

Ozzy

Check the open loop timer settings.

There should be no problem when a station (Telrad Phone) just hangs-up on the caller. The light should stay red for a second then go off. This is normal.

I have notice this problem with VOIP line because they usually don't send a disconnect signal.

This is a problem only in the voicemail. Does the customer have voicemail and what type if they do? I can tell you how to fix the problem when I get the type of voicemail.

E-magen or I-magen?

By the way what should the "open loop timer" settings be?

Also, i have taken a screen shot of the spa-8000 and was wondering if you might be able to shed some light on the optimum settings for those marked in yellow.

The screen shot doesn't really matter as long as you have dial tone from the Linksys unit.

In the Telrad system Open Loop timer should be 0.5 to 0.7 usually.

This timer probably won't matter since the Linksys VOIP unit won't send a disconnect signal.

You need to re-program the App Generator in your I-magen voicemail. I always set the time-out option to disconnect.

This way if someone goes to a voicemail it will time out and disconnect the line.

OK thanks. Just two thing. We're not having an issue with the voice mail. The main issue is dropped calls and that lines are not hanging up.

And second, the scren shot shows CPC settings, isn't that the disconnect signal that gets sent by the spa-8000?

Would by any chance have a number we can call to discuss?

Many thanks,

Oz
