Nate W. You need the software to program the system. There is no system programing through the phone as DTMF says.
I would suggest buying some tech support from a moderator to guide you through some testing.

I think all three offer Programmer Kits that include software, I have a unique device that allows programming of your Telrad system from a networked PC instead of taking a PC to the system or dedicating a PC to be a programmer.
