I add 2 phones for a customer to extensions that were not in use before. I applied a map, and the lines from that map only work if an existing phone get on the line first. Then it will light up. It lights up on incoming ringing as well, but they are unable to push the line button to access a specific CO line. It is an 818 I believe, we very rarely work on Telrad. Programming software is sb 6.10. Is there a limit to the number of phones that can have lines appear on them?

Make sure the COS for the 2 new phones matches the phones that can access CO lines. Sounds like outgoing restrictions are blocking you.

I looked at that and at first it was not the same. I changed it and still no dice. Phones that work and phones that don't are all COS day and night 1

What happens when you press 9? Are they in pbx or key? have you actually looked at the buttons on those sets to see what they are, like TKxxx or a TG xxx or whatever.

If it has the same map as a phone that works, shouldn't it be the same? Exact same phone and COS.

Sorry forgot to answer your questions. 9 goes to outside line, and I haven't checked exactly what is under the buttons.

check the map if the phone is set to pbx and the trunk keys are on MR keys you need to key them in manually. MR keys are not transfered as a mapped key. If the phone is set as a key phone then I would try to replace the phone. The trunk keys on a key phone are direct access keys. If the phone is set as a pbx phone the chances are the trunks are assigned as mdn keys and need to be manually entered for each phone regardless of the map that is applied. If you are not telrad trained then good luck, have a tech come out that is.

I think he might have DEF maps but using different phone types. Emmit2727 check the maps, then post the type of keys programed for the phones and anyone here should be able to help you.
