I have a Telrad system that has a Super Novae IQ II reporting package on it. it has ran great for years but as of late I keep losing connection at what time the error log trace states "Nets arn't turned on". short of playing some Barry White Im not sure what to do. Could you give me a starting point to my repair plan. do I start at the phone base or is it a software issue.
Please advise

I would try the usual things, load software on another machine, replace data card and phone, etc. Need to try and narrow it down by eliminating each piece. If it were me, I would start with the pc if it is older and work my way towards the equipment. Telrad equipment is pretty rock solid, but anything is possible.

If SNIQII stops collecting data:
Check the APPLINK data collection module on the status bar at the bottom.
If "outs" continue to climb but "ins" do not then the SNIQ is not receiving data from the phone system.
- reboot the APLYNC telephone (* and #, pick up the headset and set it back down)
If this fixes the problem then though it could be a problem with the COMM port on the PC, it is probably a problem on the TELRAD side.
If this does not fix the problem then exit and restart SNIQII (APPINK module). If this fixes the problem it is probably the FIFO setting in the PC. Be aware that sometimes MS auto-updates will change this from high to low without customer doing anything.
If restarting the switch fixes the problem, you really wouldn't suspect the APPLYNC card.
If "outs" are not climbing then SNIQ is not sending data to the phone system. This would indicate the problem is on the PC end. SNIQ might have a database corruption problem.
If "ins" and "outs" are both climbing then the data may be bad. If we are receiving bad data from the APPLYNC card then maybe 1) the customer changed something in the CFG; 2) a bad APPLYNC card 3) firmware incompatibilities.
Do you export the MDB file everytime you make system programming changes? I find this is the most common fault in SNIQ and APPLYNC Card connection.
FYI all of the above info was a direct quote from David at Cerecom. SNIQ is Cerecom software.

The outs are climbing. Every once in a while it connects and the ins climb. Current ratio is Ins 27224 outs 71084. I have rebooted the phone with no change. I do export the MDB file every time a make a change to our ACD groups, which is only once every other mounth or so. I recently did an export for an ACD group we added, but this issue exsisted before the ACD change. I have rebooted the pc AS well and replaced all wireing from point A to B. The only thing I have not changed is the computer, the DB9 connector and the phone base. What would you suggest next?

I think I may have it. I took your advise and moved the novae phone to a diffrent card in the system, an have not had any errors in a couple hours. Was not thinking that would be the fix. Thanks again for the advise, Happy Holidays.
