Is there a way to disable or change the pound # key when listening to a greeting so it doesn't go in to the voicemail message retreival.

It appears that the standard in other voicemail systems to skip a greeting is hitting the # key. Our clients have complained numerous times that our voicemail is broken and it asks us for a password.

Ideally we'd like to disable it so it does nothing or skips the greeting. (as in other voicemail systems)

What version are we talking about, IVM, Imagen, Emagen, etc.? Are you hitting # during the main company greeting or when you are in a mailbox greeting?

Sorry, Emagen T3 Version 10.3.15
It's during a mailbox greeting.

Thanks

There might be a setting in conversion tables in mailboxes but I don't think so for # only 0-9.

Why are they hitting #.

In the Telrad system hitting 2 will go right to leave a MSG by default.

I've checked the conversion tables, # and * are not an option.

It's external people calling in to leave a message and want to skip long winded greetings. No one has control over them. People believe that # is a standard to skip greetings. I've been requested to do so on their system.

It would be alot of work, but you could do it with script mailboxes.

If that's the only way, then it's not worth the effort.

Thanks for the info.

All the way back to the Speakeasy voicemail the * has been used to skip the mailbox greeting and go to record in the Telrad voicemails.
