Made a simple change on the 'call forward' page for a station changing the no answer settings to IVM (from SP1) and uploaded the change. Station now displays a "No License" message and the attendant console shows a 'Port License Overflow' message. Any ideas why this would happen when this thing has been licensed the same way for years? Or any ideas on how to fix?

Check your license info in the system.

Sometimes this means your cfg is corrupted. You may need to default and reload a cfg prior to the change. Please tell me you backup the system to a new file name before you made the change.

I am getting a minor alarm stating 'port license full'. I will try to push the backup file down later using the 'full load' option I presume.

The license info is showing I have 32 ports licensed which would correspond to the number of ULD cards in the system (2). I only have about 24 hardware ports active. Are the hardware ports the only thing counted against the license? Is this license separate from the voicemail license (which we upgraded recently and installed a new 'A1' file)?

Thanks for all of your input. Really appreciate it.

If it helps clarify the issue, I just received a call where someone unplugged a phone from the wall in order to put a longer cable on and when they plugged it back in, same message "XXXX No License" (where XXXX is the extension)

If you have two uld's, that would equal 32 ports if all are active. You also have to added in the Voicemail ports and col lines in the system. You can have more hardware than what your license limit is.

Look in system terminal and it will tell you what you have license, programed and active.

32 Licensed, 56 programmed, 50 active.

Is there a separate voicemail and system license? Or does that one A1.exe file take care of the entire system? If it does, do I need to reload the system once that is copied into the /usr/t3 directory?

Your over your license by a lot. You must have been on a demo license. 90 days.

The Voicemail license is separate Except for the Voicemail ports. If you have a 4-port Voicemail it will take-up 4 system ports.

Contact a moderator for Pricing on a system license. You need to goto 64 ports!!

You need to check the U62 chip on the MPD2/IPEX, if it is a 0.9 you need to replace it with a 1.0 chip. If you have/had a larger system license this may have been the issue causing the larger license to go away. Is this a new to you IPEX? If so it maybe a Tony said only had the temporary license.

This is not a new IPEX. Question: If I try to load a license key file that I found and it is not valid, am I going to kill the phones that are left running at this point? Or will it just give me an error and continue? I don't want to try to upload these keys that have been found and make things worse.
