I just got this used DK280 installed and everything seems to be going ok. Except for when I make a test call. I can hear the far end (barely) but they can't hear me at all. I put my butt set on the outgoing trunk and made another test call, this showed me that the problem was coming out of my switch. I did the usual replace handsets cords and phones, but to no avail. I had 3 RCOU w/ RCOS cards, so I started moving those around and flipping the -3db switches. Nothing worked. As a matter of fact, I think I have 3 bad RCOU cards b/c they all had some sort of problem and each one was different. I ran program 91-1 and 91-9 too.
Any thoughts on this?
THanks!

Used, eh? Might be the trunk cards or the cabinet.

The person that I'm installing it for said the system was working when they unhooked it. I know this doesn't really mean anything, but I'm trying to believe them.
When you say trunk card, what are you referring to? I'm new to the strata line so forgive me. Is that the RCOU card? Do you know where to buy these things?

The RCOU is the trunk card. 3 bad ones in one cabinet? It sounds like someone had a lightning hit perhaps...

I would pull the battery switch and default the system with the cards in the places you want them.(91-9 led 1,3,5,7,9) do it six times. Then try your call the system will default and have co's on the card and a 20 button phone will be able to grab line 1 ect to make a test call.

hookswitch? did you try more than one phone set? the odds of all three or four rcou/rcos
is pretty slim. if defaulting system doesn,t
solve your problem be sure you have a good set toshiba got a boatload of bad hookswitches in a couple production runs. ( they used to repair them for nothing for dealers) do a ram check also

Martin is correct. I have a hard time believing that you have 3 bad CO cards... You should also double check your back plane conections. Make certain that the connections are clean and everything is well seated. It is also possible that you have a bad cabinet back plane. Have you tried placing the cards in different slots?

I have tried multiple sets and multiple handsets and cords. All seem to give the same problem. I am now getting dial tone, but no digits are being passed. When I try to dial the phone gives the key beep, but no DTMF tones. I checked at the demarc and no DTMF being sent out. I ran the system initialization program 3 times, but have not tried to remove the battery jumper and I'm not sure where it's at, but I can prolly find it. If I try a station to station call i get the same old problem of sound. Meaning neither set can hear the other, so this is the same problem wether its inside or outside calls. Also, I'm not sure the internal calls are connecting properly because when I call another extension, they pick it up, it'll stop ringing but after several seconds I'll get the fast busy, error tone. I'm not sure what to make of this either.
I appreciate the help so far.

Did you reseat the processor? Sometimes the PCBs will be shipped inside the cabinet and come loose during shipping.
