My boss would like me to setup some mailboxes for people who's office isn't here locally. When someone dials say... extention 48, it just goes to that person's cell phone. There will be no physical phone for that person here at the office, only an option to call their cell phone by hitting their extentsion.

We have a CTX100 software version AT1.03 MA322, programming by WinAdmin 2.10D

Thanks!!

You can use a SLT port to do the voicemail I'm doing this with a 670 with no physical station at the PAD. This port should have a system call forward to go to it's own mailbox instead of the Auto Attendent or Operator. I know you can call forward a station to an external # too but not sure how to accomplish both objectives on the same extention and give the option to a caller choice.

Sounds like Angst is on the right track. Make extn 48 a SLT, CFALL to Vmail and make sure the VMIDCode is set to 48. Then you can give the caller a choice of transferring to the Cell or leaving a msg. I do this on my DK40 with 4-Lite at home and it works good.

Its actually much easier on the CTX. I've set this up for a couple customers.

I still dont understand. Whats the proper way to make a mailbox in winadmin without assigning an equiptment # (that hardware code). Then how do I go about programming that extension to do the call forwarding.

It was easy to setup the actual phones with call forwarding.... but I dont grasp the virtual ones.

also.... when i setup an SLT mailbox.... I only have options 1-4 for "system call forward"
thanks!

With all due respect, it sounds like you are getting in a little too deep for your background. You do not use WinAdmin to program the mailboxes, you need the Admin software for the voicemail system. Is it a Stratagy? ies32 or ivp8?

Either way, I can help. E-mail me for contact info.

why don't you make extension 48 a PhDN hidden on the right side of a 10 button phone. Then set the call forwarding ID (of course) and call forward it to voicemail...
In the voicemail programming you will want to set it to DO NOT DISTURB, so it doesn't even try to ring the extension.
