System is a 424i, on a PRI.
Can account codes by programmed into the system automatically, so that a user doesnt have to manually punch in a code?
Looking to breakup extensions for billing purposes.
Example: Extensions 200 - 210 have an account code of 1 Extensions 211 - 220 have a code of 2.
Also, can out bound caller ID be blocked on a group of extensions? By pre programming #70 to dial automatically when the phone # is dialed?

Im not asking how to do it, just if its possible.
Currenlty we are blocking caller ID on outbound calls. I believe the system is just programmed to dial #70 before every outbound call.
The vendor that is going to install the PRI for us said called ID cant be blocked. It must be done through the TelCo. Would switching from analog lines to the T1 make a difference? If this vendor said he cant do it, I guess its time to call around and have someone else install the PRI.

Program *68-1 and 2 have to do with sent CID. Normally the LEC will not pass on info unless the system sends it to them.
And to answer your first question. Why would you want account codes to be inserted by the system? What is to stop ext 200 person dialing out on ext 220? The billing would be wrong. You need to keep the account codes on a per employee basis.

Reason to have account codes preprogrammed by extentions is that there are 2 companys sharing the PBX in the building. We want to be able to bill each company for their usage.

We use Ultimate Call Accounting, it defaults to Toshiba SMDR settings out of the box. Sorry I don't know the pricing. Their website is www.uspnet.com.

You could modify your LCR data to add your account code. But before you ask how this is done let me share with you. You will need to call or email one of the Moderators of this section for billable tech programming assistance.
