Hello all.

I'm trying to set up a voicemail transfer button on a DK280 system w/ Stratagy Flash and no SMDI. What is the best way to accomplish this? Mailbox 998 doesn't seem to work at this point. Do I need to CFA an analog extension to the VM and give it an VMID of 998? Any other hints?

All you have to do is:

1. Go to groups and chains, enter 998 for digit 2 in MB 990 and 991 (make sure you do it in both 990 AND 991).

2. Put a DSS key on the phone for the first port of VM. If the first port is 032, then put #032 under a button. Label this button "VMXFR".

Now, when you want to transfer a call to VM, just say, "I'll put you in his Voice Mail. Don't go away...", then press the DSS key labeled VMXFR, wait for the main greeting, then put in 2# MB number and #, and hang up. The caller will hear the users main greeting.

Of course, if you want to use single digit 8 instead of 2, then you would press VMXFR and put in 8# MB number # and hang up. You get the idea...........

This is how we've been doing it for about 12 years. Works great, every time......

Good Luck

I use a similar process.

set up DSS button on phones (either first extension or dist hunt grp port)

In the Stratagy
Create mailbox '8'
set direct message box in config as 8
set digits in a mailbox that starts with 8 to 1

transfer by pressing the vm trans button, 8, ext number, hang up

call goes directly to user's box

similar logic but fewer keystrokes to xfer

have fun
