I have a 4 line Stratagy Flash that appears to have died. The local shop says I need to send it to Toshiba to get it fixed because the flash is no longer working. They quoted me a price to fix it, but it costs more to fix it than buying a new IVP8 card. Does this sound right? Are they that expensive to repair?
Thanks for any advice, Mark

If you have room in your switch, upgrade to the IVP8. You will be much better off in the long run!! ------------------ fingerlakestelecom.net

The price I'm being quoted to repair is $3300Can - a new IVP8 is $3000Can. Is this reasonable?

That's pretty steep. If you're interested, there's a place in my neck of the woods that charges around $300 to repair. Email me and I'll give you their number.

What is an "in skin" replacement? Keep the box and replace the internals? I'm not a telephone installer, but competent with computer hardware and software. Would I be able to such a replacement?
I've started to look at mroe advanced voicemail alternatives. I've been looking at Unified Messaging, and CTI solutions. We run a helpdesk for our products, and we use an internally designed call tracking system. We would benefit from a solution that could automatically match voicemails with the customer that left the message based on callerID name and/or number. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help. I may still opt to repair the Stratagy Flash. If I go with a more advanced solution, I will need a temporary solution until we make a decision.
Regards, Mark

The In-Skin Voicemail is a card that slides right in the slot in the cabinet. What phone system do you have? The new iES32 will give you Unified Messaging and Fax server functionality, but it will only work in the new CTX. ------------------ fingerlakestelecom.net
