I have inherited another techs DK40 install just last week. Something weird is going on.
They have a mix of 2010's, 2010SD's, and 2020SD's. I have looked at the phones programming in load 39 and find that the programmed buttons dont match whats physically on the phone. I edited the lines and nothing changed on the phone.
oh wiat, dummy Toshiba newbie question here...
Even though I can access admin programming and it looks like I am editing things, can I only edit and do work from extension 10 (port 000). Cause now I am thinking I am a dumb*** for trying to change things from extension 16.
Tell me thats why this didnt work, I love when the answer is stupidly obvious hahahaha.

You can do system programming from any DKT/EKT port on a DK40. Did you remember to press Hold to save your settings?

I have a feeling the previous tech changed some of the default port-to-intercom assignments..and your assuming they're defaulted..therefore the buttons aren't "jivving" with what the programmings showing for the 'default' port..because it isn't that port anymore. I suggest going into program 04 'station logical port-intercom assignment' and scroll through and see if and where any changes may be. I know it's program 04 with the DK280's and I haven't messed with the DK40 that much but I believe it's also prog. 04 with the DK40. Let us know what the problem was.

barster may be close. To check it, goto your display phones and enter Int.#402. Is th LOG Port the same as the PHY Port? If not, then the user has made changes to STATION RELOCATION (as described in the Admin User Guide) Side note...Never ever tell the customer that this feature is available! They will mess up a system in a heartbeat. However, it does create service calls.... ------------------ Toshiba Technical Support at: fingerlakestelecom.net

I was wondering if maybe the ports didnt match the station #'s. Though if I remember when I was programming 016 the intercom key was programmed as ##16 I think. I am pretty sure thats why I thought I was programming the correct phone. Ray [This message has been edited by milkweed73 (edited May 22, 2005).]

I am not entirely sure if this applies to the DK40, but I know on the DK 16 and 16e you have to cycle the power on/off for the changes to take affect. ------------------ Avaya Telephone Repair Toshiba Telephone Repair
