Many of my customers have asked me how to program a headset button on the Toshiba phones. I distribute a very well priced direct connect headset that works with the NEC 2000 and 3000 series phones - but without a headset button using the headset gets ugly (lifting the handset out of the cradle – uuugh) Is there a simple programming procedure that adds a headset button – maybe it’s some kind of soft key programming??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Steve [email protected] https://www.tdiheadsets.com/

Use a HHEU or BHEU in the phone and connect your on/off switch and headset to the phone. The handset can stay in the cradle as long as you leave it plugged into the phone. Whe you press the on/off switch it will activate the headset and cut it off. GN Netcom had a unit like this a long time ago. A Release/Answer key may also help

I think breed hit the nail on the head, the release/answer button should do the trick, (provided it has the behu/hehu card) we have had a few customers using headsets and this button is normally suffice

OK – This is starting to make sense. A customer of mine wanted to use our headsets on Toshiba 3000 series phone, and insisted that he needs an amplifier. I said he didn’t. It turned out that the phones were behind a Vertical networks PC based switch. The PC s/w developers had not yet added a headset button to their application. My customer told me that he needed the on off switch of an amplifier because if the phone is ringing and you simply plug a headset into the BHEU, you will answer the phone!! So this IS normal behavior for the BHEU huh? Fortunately I was able to sell him our TDI-20 headset handset switch that provides the necessary on/off functionality without the need of batteries or additional power. Thanks for the help.
