I've just added two new Extension to our system. When the Auto attendant tries one of the extentions it rings as someone is intercoming them. The other ring like the rest of the phones with a full ring. Is this a setting in the IPV8 or the programming on the DK424?

Thanks
Dave

First, check if the rest of the stations have an "H" in the extension field. This performs a blind transfer. Also make sure the new stations are CF NA to voicemail. Don't forget to ID the extension with INT #656 and 657

Dan,
Thanks for the reply. None of the extensions have an H on their displays.
I have done the #656 and #657 on the phone at fault twice, just to make sure I didn't fat finger the config.
What happens is if someone from the outside calls and enters the extension (243) during the AA message, the call is transfer to the phone. After 4 buzzes (not rings) it goes to the voicemail system. The rest of the phone ring between the AA and the VM system.
The Phone at fault say VMEXT calling where the others say LINE XX transfer.
Thanks
Dave

Voyager meant for you to look at the extension field of the Voice Mail system not the phone and make sure there was a H after the extension number this should fix your problem

I'm sorry I didn't explain very well. In the voicemail programming.....In each mailbox there is a field called EXTENSION. When you dial the ext. number from AA menu, it looks at the voicemail box and dials the value in the extension field (usually the extension number which matches the mailbox.)

Your VMail system is monitoring the phone to see if soneone answers before returning to the users greeting. There has to be an "H" after the extension number in the extension field (ie: 205H ). This will force the VMail system to transfer the call and drop out. Now it doesn't care if anyone is there or not. The phone is Call Forwarded back to voicemail to the users greeting. That is the same as you transferring the call from station to station. The call will ring on the CO (or Float) key until answered or forwarded.

Is that clear as mud??? [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Breed/Voyager,
Ok, now how can I setup this H in the IVP8? Is this done through the 999 mailbox or is this done in the Dk424 programming or on the phone itself? Would that be via the #65691### setup?
Sorry for being so dense on this.
Thanks
Dave

You need access with a laptop and the Stratagy Admin Software. If your installer can't (or won't) do it, e-mail me and I can dial in remotely. See my banner ad at the top of this page!

I have the admin software installed on a remote system. Found it and the rest of the disks buried deep in other "junk" left by the previous maintainer. I have dialed in tried to access 993 but the previous person who managed the system appears to have changed the password. Is there a way to remotely change the password or do I need to default the entire unit?
